Impacts of the Recession on the UK Cultural Sector

This is now the third such Survey that Arts Quarter has conducted on the impacts of the recession on the UK cultural sector – our first survey taking place over January and February 2009 and our second over August and September 2009. Many of our clients and wider stakeholders asked us to return to this issue a year after our last Survey and at a time when the cultural sector is preparing to understand the implications of the Coalition Government’s Comprehensive Spending Review. In that this is the third Survey of its kind, we are now starting to see some clear trends emerging in our findings which we hope participants in our research work will find of benefit in benchmarking their own performance and indeed the wider arts sector and policy makers will find of value in seeking to shape future directions for this community over the coming years.
