Since we launched Family Friendly as an action research project, it has grown to become a sustained part of the organisation’s activity and provision. The project now works to support and promote family activity across the region.

We have a large and growing database of families in the Greater Manchester area who wish to be kept up to date with what is on via our monthly Family Friendly e-Newsletter.
We also have listings websites for Greater Manchester and Merseyside, which we promote to families in the areas.
Family Friendly has become a recognised and trusted brand among family audiences and we developed a Family Friendly Logo for arts and cultural organisations to use to highlight and brand their family events. Arts Council England have now rolled this out across the country.
The Family Friendly Toolkit is designed to support arts organisations wishing to make a commitment to families, and contains experiences and examples of good practice to help organisations develop work for families.
Family Friendly Forums provides an opportunity for arts and cultural organisations to meet to discuss activity, share best practice and resources, keep up to date, and find out about promotional, collaborative and marketing opportunities.
We are currently running a Family Friendly Regional Engagement Project, working with cluster groups of arts organisations across the North West to create family friendly initiatives targeting low and non-attending families. This project is funded by Arts Council England North West.
The Family Friendly Film Festival has been running annually in August across Greater Manchester for the last four years. Its aim is to encourage new family audiences to arts and cultural venues by providing an exciting, free or cheap fun selection of events and activities.
A Family Friendly Film School and Film Club have become a regular part of our work and are hosted at a variety of arts and cultural venues.
