I am responsible for the strategic overview and direction of the Client Services and Marketing Services teams. My main aim is to ensure that all of our clients derive real benefit from our services.
My role largely revolves around listening, advising and planning. I am at my happiest when combining all of these in my facilitation and consultancy work with subscribers. I also programme a series of subscriber events which inform, challenge and inspire. And all the while I keep an eye on the horizon to spot future trends and opportunities.
My work history began with a brief flirtation with a career as a maker and seller of crafts, then (even briefer) as a liaison interpreter, before an enlightening stint as a temp. It was as a temp that I landed at Arts Council England NW (back when it was called North West Arts Board) and discovered that I loved working in the arts sector. From there I spent a couple of years working on Cultureshock, the Commonwealth Games Cultural Programme, before moving to Arts About Manchester in early 2003 where I spent 5 years as Information Manager, looking after membership services.
In 2008 and 2009 I was the Strategic Audience Development Manager for Merseyside, working with LARC (Liverpool Arts Regeneration Consortium) to capitalise on Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture. I focused my work on projects to engage family audiences and hard to reach audiences with the vibrant cultural offer of Liverpool.
I returned to Arts About Manchester just in time to work on the exciting final stages of the transition to become All About Audiences.
