Peter Fell

Peter Fell has since 2000 been the Director of Regional and Economic Affairs at the University of Manchester. He has a responsibility for managing the University's complex civic and regional strategic relationships. Peter has a very comprehensive understanding of the region's political and business environment having worked previously at senior level for a number of public bodies - including the North West Regional Assembly, Stockport Council and Merseyside TEC.

Peter has a particular expertise in civic and regional governance matters and sits on numerous regional and city regional boards and committees. He is a member of the CBI Regional Council and 4North West's Economic Development Committee. Peter has a keen interest in enterprise and skills issues. He has served as a school governor for over 15 years. He is a founder governor of the Manchester College. He is also a former chair of Euro Info Centre North West.

Peter is passionate about the arts. As well as being chair of All about Audiences he is a board member of the Cornerhouse and a member of Council for Tate Liverpool. He is past regional chair of the RSA and a former member of the RSA council. Peter has a long standing interest in history and heritage issues. He has a Masters degree from Kings College, University of Cambridge in History. He is Vice Chairman of the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester (MOSI), a trustee of the Manchester Monastery and a trustee of the Manchester based Foundation for Science, Technology and Civilisation. He is a member of the Muslim Heritage Awareness Group.
