Nick has been professionally involved with managing theatres and concert halls since graduating from Sheffield University with a degree in Politics in 1984.
Nick has managed venues around the UK, in Ireland and the USA. He has worked predominantly in mixed programme venues, and he was responsible for establishing Llandudno’s Venue Cymru as one of the UK’s leading receiving theatres. In 2002 he opened The Helix, the largest arts centre in Ireland and subsequently worked for Live Nation.
In 2006 Nick accepted the position of Chief Executive of The Bridgewater Hall working for SMG Europe, the company that manages the Hall on behalf of Manchester City Council. Nick’s role within SMG has recently expanded to take on responsibility for winning new theatre management business for the company, a process which started with a successful bid to manage The Bridgewater Hall for the next 10 years from 2010.
