Andrea Nixon

Andrea was appointed Executive Director, Tate Liverpool in 2006, and is responsible for all business, marketing and operational activities at the gallery.

From 1999 to 2006 she was Director of Development for Tate London, and led Tate’s fundraising operation, including developing donations, public sector funding, corporate sponsorship and a wide variety of membership schemes. In the 1990s she worked as Sponsorship Manager at the Design Council in London, developing funding, press and PR initiatives with a variety of commercial partners before joining Tate to help lead corporate fundraising.

She has a first class honours degree in English from Durham University, a post-graduate masters in Arts Adminstration from City University, London, and is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a Trustee of the Crafts Council, Forma and Theatre for A Change. Andrea is a member of the Regional Council for Arts Council North West, the Workforce Development Group for UK Visual Arts for Creative & Cultural Skills, a board member of Renaissance North West and the Tourism panel for the North-West Development Agency, as well as chairing a number of initiatives for the Liverpool Arts Regeneration Consortium, including leading the Liverpool Creative Apprenticeships programme in 2008/9. Andrea is married with one daughter.
